For a real feeling of exclusion in the most
stunning location, it would be hard to match
Casa Mayato. With the final 5 kms. of road
winding up through the mountains and a
descent of 50 steps from the parking area to
the house itself, brings you to the perfect
retreat with matchless views.
The villa is built into the hillside and is
surrounded with large terraces, leading to a
small swimming pool carved out of the rock
itself. Like the house itself, the terraces are
on two levels, and are imaginatively
furnished - there is a "Moroccan" terrace.
While another has comfortable sofas and an
"Indian" bed - all providing magical settings
from which to gaze at the gorgeous sea
views. The villa has recently been
refurbished to a very high standard of
modern comfort, including a new kitchen,
but if will prove difficult to stay inside when
the outdoor areas are so alluring. Casa
Mayato is above a rocky beach, part of a
nature preserve, and although it is only a
seven minutes walk down to the sea, it must
be said that the climb back up is steep, and it
may be preferable to go down by car. The
small family resort of San Vicente is only 7
km. away, where there is a pleasant sandy
beach, as well as shops, beach bars and
restaurants. This is truly a house for anyone
wishing to live, if only for a week or two,
away from it all.
