slopes of the Serra de Monchique, this rural
retreat lures you into leisurely pace and
rewards you with views to die for!
Recently bought and fully refurbished by its
French owners, the Horta do Cano offers
high standards of carefully planned comfort.
Its gardens, stepped into the hillside,
surround a house with warm terracotta walls
and encompass a well placed swimming pool
and ample outdoor space to simply sit and
think (…or sometimes simply sit…) There
are stunning views from various vantage
points and there is little to disturb your
reverie. Reached by a fairly rough track, the
villa is secluded but not reclusive - as one or
two other houses share the area and the shops,
restaurants and traditional bars of
Monichique are within easy reach. With three
bedrooms in the main house and two in the
separate guest annexe, the villa is adaptable
for sizeable family holidays or mixed groups
of friends. (The Main House and Annex must
be let together in Peak Season.) A lovely
setting to enjoy the calm and breathe the
country air.
