Palacete de Cazulas is situated in a
totally unspoiled hamlet close to the
charming pueblo village of Otivar in
Andalucia. This is an area of
outstanding peace and beauty with
lovely country walks, yet within
easy driving distance of the beaches
and also the Sierra Nevada with
winter skiing. The house enjoys a
spectacular setting at the top of a
tropical valley (1430 ft. above sea
level) amidst avocado and chirimoya
plantations. The property was the
home of the Marquesa de Montanero
for many years, and has recently
been renovated to modern standards,
while retaining the style of the 15th
century, when it was originally built.
The house is surrounded by a garden,
modeled on the Anhambra, with box
hedges, palm trees, fountains and a
large mirador from where the views
of the hilly countryside can be
enjoyed. Next to the swimming pool,
there is a large terrace where it is
reputed the Marquesa hosted her
parties. A tennis court, table tennis
and a pool table are also available
for the guests use.
The rooms at this property are all
spacious, with all of the bedrooms
having en-suite baths. Although it can
accommodate a large number of
people, the actual building is not
enormous and smaller parties will not
feel overwhelmed. An extra cottage
for four people is available on request.
The property is perfect for wedding
receptions, and there is a restored
chapel within the grounds.
